How long does a surf lesson take?

The total duration varies by location and departure point. The time listed includes the activities needed for the session — check-in and waiver, equipment setup and board selection, land lesson and surf theory, time in the water, and (when applicable) transportation or the walk to and from the beach.

Do I need prior experience to surf?

No way! 90% of our guests are beginners. We work with certified instructors in small groups (max 4 people per instructor). Sayulita and La Lancha are perfect spots to catch your first waves. We teach you everything from the pop-up to reading the ocean.

Can surf lessons be tailored to intermediate surfers?

Yes, Wildmex collects details on age, height, weight, and surfing experience to place guests appropriately according to their skill level.

Traveling alone or as a couple?

Perfect! We are super solo-friendly (join the daily group and meet people instantly) and we have amazing private rooms for couples looking for some romantic sunset spots.

What exactly is included in the price?

It depends on the package you choose in the calculator. All packages include the full gear (board, leash, and wetsuit in winter), surf lessons, and accommodation in hand-picked hotels. The "Full" packages include unlimited meals and drinks.

Why is The Amazing Hostel less expensive than Alma Surf Lodge?

Alma Surf Lodge offers exclusively private rooms with private bathrooms, whereas The Amazing Hostel provides options with shared bathrooms and different amenities.

Is it possible to add extra nights to a stay before or after the surf camp without adding more lessons?

Yes, extra nights can be added to your stay without additional surf lessons. However, availability in the same room or hostel is not guaranteed and depends on current occupancy.

What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?

We offer total flexibility. You can cancel or reschedule your trip for free up to 14 days before your arrival. If you can't travel, your deposit turns into a credit for a future adventure.

What should a client do if their Stripe payment link does not work?

The client can notify the Wildmex team, and a new payment link will be generated and sent over email.

Do I need a visa to travel to Mexico?

If you are from the US, Canada, most of Europe, and South America, no visa is needed for stays under 180 days. We help you fill out your FMM (Multiple Migration Form) at the airport.

How do I get to my camp from the airport?

We arrange private transfers from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR). It's about 45 minutes to Sayulita and 20 minutes to Punta Mita. Once your booking is confirmed, we send you all the instructions.

When do surf activities begin if a guest arrives in the evening?

Surf activities are scheduled to begin the day after arrival so guests have time to settle in and prepare.
